Since our first visit to Fun Casino a few years back, and what a great visit it was, Fun Casino have made some changes – and none of them are very good.

Fun Casino is owned by L&L Europe and prides itself on putting players first. While this claim may seem like it’s just another generic line from an online casino, Fun Casino really seems to be serious. Their security is top notch, they have been licensed in three different territories and they even have a very handy feature called ‘Reality Check’ which is a self-set timer that logs a player out after a predetermined (by the player) time to help problem gamblers. This seems weird but really adds to their reputation.

The website is fun with a very friendly vibe and excellent support and with a great variety of online slots, and the addition of an online sports book, Fun Casino is a good if uninspiring online casino for South Africans.

What worries us a is that, prior to signing up, we seemed to be offered a lot more than was actually available after registration. The Online Live Casino and a whole bunch of the providers just disappeared after registration was complete. Maybe it’s just a glitch or a temporary thing but it does not fill us with happy rainbow unicorn bubble thoughts.

The Fun Casino online experience

Fun Casino is a good online casino option for South African online gamblers. Getting into Fun Casino is as easy as clicking the Register link on the top right of the screen and completing the usual required fields. Fun Casino begins with asking for your email and getting players to create a username and password. This is followed with the name, surname, DoB, address, country, mobile details. We went in with HUGE expectations. From what we saw we had an online Live Casino and some of the big international providers to give us our dose of online casino game thrills.

But we ended up frustrated and disappointed.

A lot of the listed providers were not actually playable. The online Live Casino was conspicuous by its absence. Getting to the online sportsbook meant having to click the Sportsbook tab, choose from a limited number of options (Football, Basketball, Hockey, Racing, Tennis), click on that choice which opened up the different Football markets and – SURPRISE – also opened up a whole new menu of options for a whole bunch of other sports and events from around the world.

Even more frustrating, it also gave us – again – the tabs for the Live Casino, table games, and video poker. All of which do not actually exist on the Fun Casino site.

Not great at all and in serious need of a bit of TLC.

The seeming lack of actual games from the other providers aside, these three studios do provide a good selection of quality slots for South African online slots fans.

We are NOT going to lie – we were very disappointed with Fun Casino. Previously (two years ago) we had huge hopes for this platform. It was welcoming and secure, offering excellent support and fantastic games. There was an amazing online Live Casino and plenty of providers.

Now? Not so much. Maybe it’s the new online sportsbook? Maybe they are concentrating on the online sports gamblers and are doing away with the online casino games? Maybe they are just in a rebuilding stage?

We don’t know. We only know that we are very much not having FUN at Fun Casino right now.
